Post Treatment

CLIENT POST-CARE Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to ensure proper healing from the procedure:

  • You may notice whiteness or blanching around the area, this is normal and will subside within a few hours.

  • You may get some swelling, this is normal and should subside within 2 days.

  • In some cases there may be slight bruising. This should last no longer than 1 week.

  • Redness is normal for the first few days. To relieve the swelling, you can cool the area with soft gel ice packs.

  • A slight stinging sensation in the first few days is also normal.

  • Eyebrows will start to form scabs and they might look dark and thick. As the skin heals, the scabs will fall off in random pieces throughout the brow and might look patchy throughout the week. Flaking and crusting of the skin may occur.

  • The colour will appear faded when the flaking/scabs fall off. This is completely normal. Do not feel discouraged if the fading is more than you expected. The colour may re-emerge and become darker 1-2 weeks after ALL the scabs fall off.

  • Do not rub or pick at the dry flaky skin/scabs. If you pick at them you will loose colour and will be liable to pay for additional retouches (yes we can tell!).

  • Remember your colour will be darker and more prominent for 5-7 days on average.

  • Do not apply any make-up on the treatment area.

  • No sun tanning, swimming, or excessive sweating.

  • No soaps, moisturizers, make-up, creams, or sunscreen on the treatment area.

  • Avoid touching the treated area unless it is for cleansing purposes.

  • For Brows - Apply a rice grain size amount of aftercare gel 2-3 times a day for up to 14 days of recovery.

  • For Lips - You can apply the balm supplied immediately post procedure & throughout the day as needed. Use cooled boiled water to clean the area prior to applying the balm. Apply before eating and drinking. Avoid any makeup until the area has fully healed.

  • For Eyes - If the eye feels a little puffy you can apply a cold compress. Follow with the balm supplied using a clean cotton bud. Repeat twice a day until the area has healed. Continue using your balm for 14 days. Avoid eye makeup until the area has completely healed. Lash extensions should not be worn for a minimum of 4 weeks.

  • Should any signs of infection appear, please seek medical attention.

It is very important that you wash the treatment area very gently during the first 14 days as your fresh PMU heals. Do not rub the treatment area for any reason. After cleansing, please gently pat dry with a clean cloth or tissue.

AFTERCARE DIRECTIONS
Absorb (Day Of)

  • After the procedure, gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid.

  • Do this every 5 minutes until the oozing has stopped.

  • Removing this fluid prevents the hardening of the lymphatic fluids

Wash (Day 1-7)

  • Wash daily to remove bacteria, build-up of product and oils, and dead skin. (Don't worry, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT!)

  • Gently wash the area each morning and night with water and gentle soap or an unscented cleanser like baby shampoo. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the area.

  • Rub the area in a smooth motion for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all soap is rinsed away.

  • To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.

Moisturize and Hydrate (Days 1-7)

  • Apply a tiny, rice grain amount of the balm supplied 3 times a day with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.

  • Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The product should be barely noticeable on the skin.

  • NEVER put the product on a wet or damp tattoo.

Healing

HEALING: As soon as your procedure is finished your body will start to heal. The skin will close and you may see a thin crust which will protect the area whilst the skin heals. After a few days the crust if visible will start to come away revealing the pigment. You will initially see a lighter hue of implanted colour. This will change and settle over the next 4-6 weeks. In some cases a true healed colour can not be seen for up to 3 months.

Please not THIS IS A TWO STAGE PROCEDURE. Your procedure is not deemed complete until you have had both treatments or we have assessed the results. Your second visit should follow within 6-12 weeks. Any treatments after this time will be charged as a colour boost.
